I am an aspiring genealogist. Over the past fifteen years I have dabbled in my research to “find my past” with varying results. As I begin to focus more intently on doing my research in earnest and in accordance with the Genealogical Proof Standard, I am looking to share my research results with family and friends. My main goal is to not just gather accurate facts, but collect the stories in an effort to capture their lives and memories. It’s my intent to use this website as a collaborative platform to gather and share these stories, photographs and various family trees charts.
While this website is still a work in progress, I am always looking for ways to make it better. I am using all free services at this time in order to build out the capability and gather feedback. While I would love to incorporate more advance formatting and functionality, they are not part of the free WordPress.com environment and ecosystem. I built this website with the following overarching principles in mind:
- ensure the security and privacy of the information,
- allow for open and constructive dialogue,
- ensure the information is accurate and well documented, and
- provide a platform for sharing.
